Financial Data, Models, Reporting & Transformation
Zervas Advisors builds the data foundations, financial models and reporting that fund managers and middle-market companies depend on to allocate capital and answer to boards and investors.
We integrate with your team, allowing them to maintain operations uninterrupted, while we apply the standards used inside institutional platforms.
We work with you to strengthen the data foundation that supports reporting, build the financial models and analysis behind strategic decisions, automate and standardize reporting for faster results, and sharpen what you take to boards and investors. The result is a finance operation that is more accurate, faster and scalable.
We document the processes and products we build so your team can carry them forward when the engagement ends.
Our approach begins with a conversation. We work out what is necessary, what is nice to have and what would be transformative, then scope the engagement against what the existing environment will realistically support. We accommodate all project sizes and scopes, from stepping in to carry forward existing reporting or building a single financial model, through to a full assessment and complete transformation of your finance operations.
Fund managers and middle-market companies grow through deals and sales. The infrastructure underneath that growth, the data, the reporting and the analysis, rarely gets the resources to keep pace. The gap shows up as manual effort, numbers that do not reconcile, and decisions made on information nobody fully trusts.
In a full transformation (most engagements are a subset), we come in to clean up, organize and structure that foundation, then rebuild the reporting and analytics so they scale with accuracy and speed. This is the catch-up phase, bringing a firm to where it needs to be to keep growing.
How We Work
Zervas Advisors helps fund managers and middle-market companies solve the financial, data and reporting problems that come with scale. Most firms selling this work deliver recommendations. We build the models, the reporting and the processes themselves.
Every engagement starts with a conversation. We work through what you are trying to achieve, what already exists, and where the real constraint sits, then agree a realistic scope before any proposal is written. From there, work takes one of four shapes.
A structured assessment of the data, models, reporting, processes and controls. You receive current-state findings, root causes, a target-state design and a prioritized roadmap with effort and impact, including the quick wins available within one reporting cycle.
A specific build, scoped and priced on its own. A fund or operating model, a reporting package rebuilt before quarter end, a budget and forecast, a dashboard, a board or investor deck. No assessment required.
An end-to-end rebuild across data, models, reporting and investor materials, delivered in phases with a defined stopping point at each boundary. Documentation and handover are built into every phase.
Senior capacity retained through a reporting cycle, a fundraise or a build. Part-time depth on the finance function without adding a permanent hire, available alongside or after any of the above.
Mission
To develop and provide finance teams with a solid foundation they can trust and rely upon as they grow. We build what we recommend, and we leave it running.
Vision
To be the trusted firm that fund managers and middle-market CFOs call to support and drive their finance needs when reporting has outgrown the infrastructure and resources available.
Founder & Managing Partner
Paul founded Zervas Advisors after two decades building and leading finance, reporting and analytics functions across private markets and corporate finance.
He spent five years at H.I.G. Capital, a global alternative asset manager, where he built and led the global Performance Reporting Group within Finance and Investor Relations as the platform grew from $40 billion to $75 billion across private equity, private credit, real estate and infrastructure. He hired and led a team of ten across the United States, Europe and India. Through workflow redesign, automation and AI-assisted tooling he reduced reporting timeframes and streamlined processes, unlocking weeks of capacity for the team each quarter. He built the detailed fund models and track records covering actual, pro forma and new product development across all strategies, enabling the firm to respond quickly and confidently to investor inquiries and supporting substantial capital raised.
Before H.I.G. he spent four years in corporate development at Royal Caribbean Group as head of finance for a global portfolio of approximately $1 billion in port and destination assets across twenty-five joint ventures. He led the financial underwriting and valuation of more than $3 billion of infrastructure development opportunities, built the winning model for a $250 million competitive bid in the Cayman Islands, and served as board observer for several of the group’s investments. He managed corporate FP&A across the portfolio, held responsibility for the financial operations of the group’s wholly owned investment in Jamaica, prepared investment memoranda for capital committee approval, and delivered financial updates to executive management.
Earlier he was the first finance hire at Rialto Capital Management, where he built the corporate finance and FP&A functions from scratch, developed the firm’s fund and distribution waterfall models, and built the valuation model used in the structuring and sale of the business to Stone Point Capital.
He began his career at BankUnited in FP&A, serving as finance lead to line-of-business executives on budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis, and leading system implementations for budgeting and profitability software. During the global financial crisis he served as lead analyst on the small deal team that carried the institution through its sale process and FDIC auction. Following the transaction he worked closely with the incoming management team to rebuild the finance function, leading capital planning and organic growth initiatives while serving on the capital, technical steering and real estate committees.
Paul holds an MBA from the University of Florida and a BBA in Finance from Florida International University. He pitched in the Boston Red Sox minor league organization and played baseball at FIU.
